Are you ready for the new year?

I sure hope you had a wonderful holiday season! It always seems to go so fast, first Halloween was so sneaky this year, I didn’t do a THING to celebrate (and it’s my favorite!). And I blinked and Christmas just ended-phew.

Whether we do New Year’s resolutions or not, the end of one year/the beginning a new one is always such a great time for reflection and moving forward in the direction we want.

One of the things I like to do before setting any goals is to think about what I want my life to LOOK like over the next year or so-this gives me a basis to set REALISTIC goals for the year that will put me in the direction I want my life to be in. I will also break them down.

For example, if I want to increase my back squat by 5kg, what do I need to do to reach this goal? Perhaps I will up my squatting from 3 days a week to 4, or I will do a more aggressive program. Maybe I need to make better food choices, stretch more, drink more water, include more protein in my diet. See what I just did? My knowing my BIG goal, or what I want to move toward, I just set about 5-6 small, realistic goals that will set me in motion to reaching my main goal, while keeping my eyes on the prize.

Another HUGE piece of reaching goals is having support. No matter what we are doing, having a support system in place is crucial.

So if one of your goals this year is to get in better shape, get stronger, eat better, ect, why not get a buddy to do it with you? Or even a group of friends?  Set up a plan that all of you can do and keep each other on track. Not only does it make you more likely to succeed, but also it makes it fun! You can look forward to going to workout, or talking about what you made to eat that was healthy and delicious.

This is why I have a group program starting next week to get you stronger and feel more confident. Starting next Tuesday and Thursday for six weeks at 630pm.  We are also doing a free workout to come check it out on Monday the 9th at 630pm as well.
